AQUARIA WATER MUSEUM

CHINESE PAVILION

Drottningholm. Phone: 08-402 62 70. Brommaplan underground station, then take bus 177 or 301-323. Erected in 1760 the pavilion is now a World Heritage landmark. The pavilion is located in the palace garden.

COSMONOVA at THE MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY

Universitetet underground station, buses 40 or 540 to Riksmuseet. Sweden's only Omnimax-theatre. Following movies are shown daily on one of the largest film screens in the world: Everest, Amazonas, Alaska, The Living Sea, The Blue Planet and Extreme. DROTTNINGHOLM PALACE
Drottningholm. Phone: 08-402 62 80. Brommaplan underground station, then take bus 301 or 323. Or take boat from Stockholm City.
The permanent home of the royal family since 1981, situated on the island of Lovön in Lake Mälaren. The palace, baroque style, was designed by Nicodemus Tessin the Elder in 1662.

HALLWYL MUSEUM
Hamngatan 4. Phone: 08-519 555 90, Östermalmstorg underground station, buses 46,47, 55, 62, 69, 76. The museum shows a private home from the turn of the 19th century including paintings, silver, china.

HISTORISKA MUSEET/THE MUSEUM OF NATIONAL ANTIQUITIES
Narvavägen 13-17. Phone: 08-519 556 00. Östermalmstorg or Karlaplan underground stations, buses 44 or 56. Prehistoric collections and splendid secular and ecclesiastical objects from the Middle Ages. Shop, cafe.

THE HOBBY AND TOY MUSEUM
Mariatorget 1C. Phone: 08-641 61 00. Mariatorget underground station, buses 43 or 55. An exciting visit for old and young toy lovers. Here the aim is to document as much as possible from the varied world of toys and models. Shop, cafe.

JUNIBACKEN

LILJEVALCH'S ART GALLERY

Bus 44 or 47, tramcar 7, or Djurgården Ferry from Slussen. The gallery is listed as one of the most beautiful of it's kind in northern Europe. Swedish and international art and craft work from the last 100 years. Open Tues-Thurs 11am-8pm, Wed, Fri-Sun 11am-5pm.

LÅNGHOLMEN PRISON MUSEUM
Kronohaktet, Långholmen. Phone: 08-668 05 00. Hornstull underground station (exit Lång-holmsgatan). Follow Långholmsgatan to-wards Vasterbron, turn left on Högalidsgatan. Take right and cross the small bridge over to Långholmen. The museum in the old jail shows 250 years of prison history. Shop, cafe.

MILLES ESTATE MUSEUM
Carl Milles väg 2, Lidingö. Phone: 08-446 75 90. Ropsten underground station, then take a bus or train to Torsvik. The former home of the sculptor Carl Milles. See his own works and art collections. Shop, cafe. Open daily 10am-5pm.

NATIONAL MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS

MODERNA MUSEET/MUSEUM OF MODERN ART

THE NATIONAL MARITIME MUSEUM
Djurgårdsbrunnsvägen 24, Djurgården. Phone: 08-519 549 00. Bus 69 from the Central Station/Sergelstorg.
This museum is the core Swedish museum for the merchant shipping, ship building and sea defence. The collections comprise approximately 100.000 objects, of which more than 1.500 are ship models from the 17th century to our own day. Shop, cafe.

THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF ETHNOGRAPHY

Bus 47, tramcar 7. Formerly the home of Prince Eugen (1865-1947). One of Swedens most popular art museums, with a surrounding park famous for it's flowers and sculptures. Shop, cafe.

THE ROYAL ARMOURY

THE ROYAL PALACE

Gamla Stan underground station, buses 43, 46, 55, 59, 76. The Royal Palace is the official residence of H M the King. The State Apartments with beautiful interiors from the 18th and 19th centuries are open to the public (when not in use!). Shop.

THE ROYAL TREASURY

Gamla Stan underground station, buses 43, 46, 55, 59, 76. The regalia, symbols of the Swedish monarchy, are kept in the vaults beneath the Hall of State. Crowns, sceptres, orbs among other objects.

SKANSEN OPEN-AIR MUSEUM Djurgårdsslatten 49-51, Djurgården. Phone: 08-442 80 00.
Buses 44, 47, tramcar 7 or Djurgården ferry from Slussen. Swedish history at the worlds first open-air museum. Here you find houses and farmsteads from the 14th century to 1920, inhabited by people in period costume. At the zoo you can see domestic and wild Nordic animals like elk, brown bear, wolf and seal. Craft shops, cafes and restaurants.

STOCKHOLM CITY MUSEUM

SWEDISH MUSEUM OF ARCHITECTURE

Kungsträdgården underground station or bus 65. Swedish buildings from the Middle Ages to today, with examples from Stockholm and the rest of Sweden. Also temporary exhibitions and atelier/workshop. Cafe, restaurant and bookshop.

THE VASA MUSEUM
Galärvarvet, Djurgården. Phone: 08-519 548 00.
Buses 47, 44, tramcar 7 or Djurgården ferry from Slussen. The world's oldest restored war-ship is on exhibit at this museum on the island of Djurgården. She capsized 1628 and was salvaged 333 years later. Guided tours daily. Shop and restaurant.
