Whatever you buy it's certain to be a bargain (30-50% lower prices). Take the train from Central Station to Jakobsberg. From there take the bus.
SOUVENIERS
In Old Town you´ll find small shops with locally produced crafts. Two of the most Swedish souveniers are the wooden painted ”dalahorse” and a pair of clogs. Great gifts!
Visit the department stores for glass and crystal which has been the local specialty for centuries.
If you visit any of the museums, make sure to take a look in the museum shop where you can find many nice souveniers to bring back home.
And why not buy something eatable as a souvenier; smoked salmon, Kalles Kaviar (roe, loved by almost every Swede, try it!), Swedish chocolate or ”knackebrod”, the flat hard bread that you might find on your breakfast buffe. The eatable things can be bought at the airport on your way home.
For modern Swedish design visit Designtorget at Sergels Torg. This is the store where young Swedish designers sell their work.
FASHION
Basically all international boutiques and brands for men and women can be found in Stockholm. There are also many Swedish brands such as Peak Performance (outdoor and leisure) and Filippa K (young popular Swedish designer).
The fashionable area around Östermalmstorg and the mall Sturegallerian (at Stureplan) offer high quality brands and exclusive boutiques. The street Biblioteksgatan and the departmentstore NK are other spots to look in.
